Originally delivered to dealer William E. Randall of Fort worth Texas in its original colors of black with red interior, this 300SL Gullwing was purchased by Stanley L. Drexler of Denver, Colorado. The current owner, also a former Gullwing Group president, purchased the car from Drexler in 1960 and has owned it ever since. Over the last 57 years, he has tirelessly maintained this wonderful example and exhaustively documented the care and servicing it has undergone.
This 300SL Gullwing is a shining example of what true care and stewardship can yield. It is unequivocally one of the most thoroughly maintained and cared for SL’s we’ve seen. Since 1960, every receipt has been retained, all stats on the cars use including gas costs, mileage per year, etc…has been fully documented.
This Gullwing scored 97.25 at Legends of the Autobahn in August 2011 and won an AACA National First Prize Senior Award in 1999. It is fully serviced and needs nothing.
