According to its accompanying Certificate of Origin document, this rare Tony Ostermeier 300SL Roadster was delivered new to Sakuma International S.A. of Tokyo Japan on August 11, 1993 with Identification No. GW2002. As one of only a handful of Roadster examples built by Anton “Tony” Ostermeier, president of the now famous 300SL re-recreation making company Gullwing Car Inc. of Gardena, California, this car was specified new in white paint over red leather and was built upon a M124 Mercedes-Benz platform featuring an M103 inline 6-cylinder engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission which came fitted with power steering and ABS disc brakes. Since their inception, Gullwing Car, Inc 300SL’s built by Tony Ostermeier have been universally recognized as gold standard examples of classic cars ‘reborn’ in modern times. Today, these superior re-creations are highly sought after due to their rarity, exacting body proportions and superbly engineered driving capability.
