European automotive auction heaven dubbed Retromobile has come and gone in the form of the 2016 Paris Auction offerings by houses Artcurial, Bonhams and RM Sotheby’s. After a mild Scottsdale 2016 offering with less elite examples bringing in less money in general than previous years, Paris 2016, and especially Artcurial’s 6 world record auction sales, showed a completely different and likely telling indication of where things may really stand in the marketplace, at least in terms of where the blue chips stand.
With multiple records broken for numerous marques, the Paris auctions have shown that the best, most elite examples in multiple categories are still bringing in the interest.
