An as always eclectic and quality spanning list of cars were on offer this past week in Scottsdale, Arizona. Our annual trip had some surprises in store, along with some predictable outcomes. There were deals to be had for the discerning buyer and in an unstable political environment with an economy proper waffling over where it wants to head, “tepid but predictably so” might be the best description of the events that transpired. It was neither a bland lineup of cars, nor a remarkable one as far as big auction weekends go. The above said, there is still an extreme thirst to pay top dollar for the best of the best classics and the rarest of the rare, cars that check all the collector car blue chip boxes, are still bringing in serious interest and big results.
Our summary of some of the market defining cars we found interesting along with links to all the major auctions can be found below. If you were in attendance and got what you wanted via sales, buys or entertainment, wonderful…If you were lucky enough to attend but perhaps didn’t get what you were after, hey, at least the weather was in fine form and rain stayed away, so there is always that!
