Completed by the factory on February 14, 1955 and shipped to and sold by Mercedes-Benz of Los Angeles to William F. Luton. Subsequent owners were world famous car collectorsJames Brucker of Santa Inez, Ca. and John Mozart of Palo Alto, Ca.
The current owner purchased the car from Mr. Mozart and commissioned 300SL specialist Scott Grundfor to conduct a 100-point body-off restoration of the Gullwing, maintaining its original colors of DB190 Silver Gray Metallic with L1Blue/MB Tex Vinyl and Blue Plaid Wool Fabric. The restoration entailed over 4,000 hours to complete. The car has never been shown with the odometer indicating just 73 miles since completion. The car has full belly pans, fitted luggage, Rudge Knock off wheels, original tools, jack and K/O hammer, and Becker Mexico Milt-band radio with the Hirsmann “Automatic” antennae.
This stunning Gullwing will take you breath away! One of the very best 300SLs we have ever had the privilege to offer for sale.
