This beautiful original-condition automobile was special ordered by H.S.R. Prince Franz Ferdinand, Prince of Isenburg-Birsteom, Germany. Delivered in March, 1956. Among the items special ordered by the Prince is the unusual but extremely attractive red accent piping on the interior leather. Stunning original condition with only 57,600km from new.
The car was sold to a wealthy industrialist. In 1959, he gave the car to his son. From 1985 to 1999, the Gullwing was on loan to the Scottish Motor Museum. From 2009 to the present, the car has been in fully sorted while in the care of a noted Mercedes-Benz marque specialist.
