Likely the lowest-mileage Mercedes-Benz W123 wagon in existence showing just 6,088 kilometers (3,783 miles) from new.

Entombed in an Avellino, Italy garage following the 1980 Irpinia earthquake and STILL a Mercedes that has never been registered, the car remained hidden for nearly four decades, retaining its original temporary plates and documents and emerging as a true automotive time capsule with 100% documented originality.

1979 280TE presents in extraordinarily rare Nickel Green (code 870) over a beautifully preserved avocado green cloth interior. Delivered new via the Sindelfingen factory and specified with the flagship 2.8-liter M110 inline-six with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, automatic transmission, air conditioning, central locking, Becker Mexico cassette radio, automatic antenna, and the coveted rear-facing third-row seat, this S123 combines period-correct luxury with genuine long-haul capability.

Retaining original paintwork that has only required careful polishing to present at a concours level, and a pristine original interior.
