Hope Classic Rally: London – June 17th 2015 – A host of stars from film, TV and sport will come together with a dream line-up of classic cars this July to support the Hope Classic Rally, raising money for the charity HOPEHIV.
Guests on the charity classic car rally will mingle with ex-Top Gear ‘Stig’ and 007 stunt-driver Ben Collins, ‘For The Love of Cars’ presenter, Ant Anstead, England rugby legend, Lewis Moody and legendary racing driver Peter Blond, among others.
Joining them, as event co-host, will be Quentin Willson from TV’s ‘The Classic Car Show’. These stars will be entertaining guests throughout the two day event, which will see participants drive ‘100 miles of Hope’ from Brooklands in Surrey to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.
Taking place on Friday 10th July and Saturday 11th July, the rally will be made up of some of the rarest and most desirable classic cars the UK has ever seen. Response has been overwhelming with classics confirmed for the event including a Porsche 911 2.7 RS, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, a Lotus Elite Type 14 and Austin Healey 3000.
These incredible cars will join an ultra-rare Ferrari 250 SWB, a competition-prepared Jaguar XK120 and an Aston Martin DB5. Other rare and desirable classics confirmed include a Ferrari 288 GTO and a Lamborghini Miura 400S – with many more to come. However, the rally is open to other classic cars, though, from MG to Mini Cooper!
The event will raise money and awareness for the charity ‘HOPEHIV’, which helps children and young adults in sub-Saharan Africa who are courageously battling through the challenges of lives affected by HIV and AIDS.
In a weekend that will see motoring passion turn into valuable support for those incredible young people, participants will meet on the Friday where they will enjoy dinner in the unforgettable backdrop of Mercedes Benz World and stay overnight in Brooklands Hotel, before driving a 100 mile route through the beautiful English countryside to spectacular Blenheim Palace, where they will enjoy lunch on the Saturday afternoon.
The Hope Classic Rally 2015 aims to raise more than £150,000 for HOPEHIV, and entry to the event follows the gift of a suggested donation to the charity. To find out more – if you have a classic car you would like to bring on the rally or if you would like to bring a friend and drive one of our specially donated VIP cars – please contact Event Director, Samantha Fenwick for more details. Ben Collins said: “I’m so proud and happy to be involved in this amazing rally, which really taps into our love of classic cars and will no doubt raise some significant funds for HOPEHIV. It is such an important cause and the event should be a real spectacle. I can’t wait to take part.”
Phil Wall, on behalf of the charity HOPEHIV, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the response and with so many rare cars confirmed, it’s shaping up to be an incredible occasion. The icing on the cake is to have people like Ben, Ant and Peter giving up their time to be with our guests at The Hope Classic Rally. We at HOPEHIV are so grateful. The money raised will be used to support a generation of young people who have been the victims of incredible tragedy – but refuse to give up hope.”
